Volunteering events
We run a series of volunteer related events throughout the academic year that your organisation can get involved in. These include:
Volunteering and Social Justice Fair
Each year in October we host the Volunteering and Social Justice Fair, attracting around 1,000 students interested in volunteering with charities and not-for-profit organisations. This is our main student-facing event, providing you with a great chance to promote your organisation directly to our students and is free to attend.
This year, the Fair took place on Tuesday 10 October 2023. It was a free event, and was a brilliant opportunity to showcase for our partner organisations to showcase their great volunteering opportunities to our students and recruit new volunteers.
Student Volunteering Week
This week-long celebration of everything to do with student volunteering takes place in February every year! Student Volunteering Week 2024 is taking place from Monday 12 February to Sunday 18 February 2024.
Volunteer of the Year Awards
The University of Manchester hosts its annual Volunteer of the Year Awards in which we celebrate the contributions of University of Manchester students.
Nominations for the 2024 will open in the new year. The Award Ceremony will be held on 7 May 2024, with the winners being announced then.
