Helping you recruit student volunteers

The SDCE Volunteering and Community Engagement Team are a team of volunteering professionals that work in partnership with around 400 community and not-for-profit organisations to source needs-led volunteering opportunities for University of Manchester students.

We offer enthusiasm, knowledge, skills and support to provide a volunteering support service that aims to meet your organisational needs and support our students to contribute successfully.

If you are a community organisation, charity or not-for-profit organisation, with an interest in recruiting student volunteers, we offer help and support to recruit student volunteers by:

  • Advertising for volunteers through our Volunteer Hub
  • Hosting volunteer recruitment events including the University's Volunteering and Social Justice Fair
  • Developing and supporting one-off volunteering events and projects, known as Volunteer Days and Volunteer Projects. These are held in collaboration with key community and charity partners.

All of these services are completely FREE.

If you are intereseted in recruiting student volunteers for your organisation the pages on this site should help you get started. If you've any questions our contact information is provided in the 'Meet the Volunteering Team' section.

The University also has a Sports Volunteer Scheme for any organisations specifically looking for students keen to volunteer in a sport related field. For more details, please access the Sports Volunteer Scheme website.

I would like to thank your volunteers on making our event run smoothly. The volunteers excelled in every role they completed with a professional and enthusiastic manner. I could not have asked for more. Dean Ashton, National Sports Development Manager, Chapter 1 The Limes
