Keeping your students safe
Overseas projects should be planned with careful consideration of the health and safety of student volunteers. Please see the health and safety section of the overseas volunteering checklist to ensure the criteria are met. The safety and security situation in-country (and, where applicable, any transit countries) should be closely monitored, for example by registering for FCO updates and via local connections in-country (e.g. project staff).
Organisers should follow the University health and safety guidelines for overseas projects (Chapter 24), and the UCEA Guidance on Health and Safety in Fieldwork. Training is also provided for staff.
