Reward and recognition

Stellify

Through Stellify students are encouraged to undertake a range of activities to help them reach their full potential. The Stellify Award is given to those students who successfully complete these activities, one of which is 40 hours of community-facing volunteering. For a students' hours to count they need to be recorded and verified on Volunteer Hub.

Student Volunteering Week (SVW)

SVW is a national event that takes place in February every year. It’s a week-long celebration of everything to do with student volunteering. Every year we distribute thank you cards to our student volunteers. Check our website for details of when to request your cards.

Volunteer of the Year

Every year the University holds a Volunteer of the Year Awards scheme, to recognise and celebrate the community activity of its members. Awards are given in three categories: Student, Staff and Alumni. Nominations open in January, so if you have an exceptional volunteer make sure you put them forward for an award.

Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

You may wish to consider applying for your project to be recognised on a students’ Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). This is a document every student can access upon graduation that lists not only their course marks but all the extra-curricular activities and responsibilities they have taken on. For more information contact the Teaching and Learning Office.

It’s always good to hear about the difference student volunteers have made, so please let us know what your volunteers have been up to. We might be able to use them as a case study, or feature their story on our website and in our newsletter.
